Introduction
Keysight’s S8701A Protocol R&D Toolset (PRT) solution is the de-facto standard for 5G NR (New Radio) cellular test; used by modem chipset providers in protocol stack development test. It is also used by device makers and network providers to test User Equipment (UE) during the development phase and before reaching the hands of consumers. Common tests using PRT including data performance, link adaptation, radio resource management, end-to-end latency, battery drain, coexistence, heat dissipation, multi-SIM, beam management, multi AoA (angle-ofarrival), field-to-lab, competitive analysis test, negative testing and many more.
Area of Focus
Negative testing usually covers predictable aspect of protocol stacks by exercising various IE (Information Elements) and call flows that may happen, or potentially goes wrong, or out of sequence when the UE is in real world service.
