The optional software (currently, only Symbol Utility and Discutil) must match the OS version numbers:

1. Sym Util 2.xx (3.06 & up) will only work with OS V2.xx or higher
2. Sym Util 1.xx will only work with OS V1.xx

If you update from 1.xx to 2.xx OS, make sure to also update the Symbol Utility to version 2.xx as well. Otherwise, the Symbol Utility will NOT work.

Keysight recommends using the most current version, which includes the most up-to-date bug fixes and security patches available.
