Design and Optimize High Performance As-Built Optical Systems
Show Description
For any optical system that will be put into production, tolerance analysis is an essential part of the design process. This 30-minute talk presents a general workflow and the tools available in the Optical Design Engineering toolbox that enable you to perform different types of tolerance analysis. You’ll learn how you can not only predict the impact of expected fabrication errors on your designs, but also how you can incorporate them at every design phase to steer towards a design naturally insensitive to them.
We will provide an overview of many specialized tolerancing techniques, including rapid wavefront differential tolerancing and interactive tolerancing. We will also demonstrate their impact on designing and optimizing high performing as-built optical systems, and how to make optical designs right the first time.
