Testing global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers requires precise control over satellite constellations, signal environments, and error conditions — all delivered as repeatable, lab-based scenarios. Keysight simulation control software provides modular tools that define, execute, and analyze positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) test scenarios on PNT X, GSS7000, and PNT Xe signal simulators. Three core position application tools (SimTEST, SimREPLAYplus, and SimGEN) offer a tiered upgrade path from entry-level scenario replay to full parameter definition with real-time control. Specialized add-on modules extend the platform into 3D multipath simulation, hardware-in-the-loop integration, inertial sensor emulation, and encrypted signals testing.

SimTEST provides entry-level replay of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) simulation scenarios with basic ionosphere and multipath toggling. SimREPLAYplus adds scenario creation, data logging, pseudorange ramps, enhanced error modeling, and the ability to replay SimGEN scenarios. SimGEN offers full scenario definition with real-time simulation control, six-degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) vehicle models, hardware-in-the-loop operation, and comprehensive truth data streaming. Each tool is available as a license upgrade to the previous tier.
The core position application tools (SimTEST, SimREPLAYplus, and SimGEN) run on PNT X, GSS7000, and GSS9000 signal simulators. Individual add-on modules may support a subset of these platforms. Check each product's compatibility notes for details.
Yes. Sim3D is a real-time multipath and obscuration simulation module that pairs with your existing GSS7000, GSS9000, or PNT X simulator running SimGEN, SimREPLAYplus, or SimTEST. It uses deterministic ray tracing within synthetic 3D environments to reproduce location-dependent signal effects under controlled, repeatable conditions. SimGEN also comes with a native 3D multipath and obscuration capability as standard, allowing you view and analyze realistic environments in real-time at a lower level of detail than is available in Sim3D.
SimINERTIAL emulates inertial sensor outputs coherent with simulated GNSS radio frequency (RF) signals at update rates up to 1 kHz when paired with PNT X. It interfaces with embedded GPS/inertial navigation system (EGI) and inertial measurement unit (IMU) devices from Northrop Grumman, Honeywell, Collins Aerospace, Safran, and other standardized message formats. For consumer-grade microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensor fusion testing, SimSENSOR generates accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, compass, and barometer data streams synchronized with simulated GNSS signals.
Yes. Onboard LEO models compute high-accuracy LEO satellite orbits for constellations of up to 999 satellites and outputs orbit files compatible with SimGEN, SimREPLAYplus, and SimTEST. SimXona generates certified Xona Pulsar LEO PNT signals for receiver testing on PNT X. SimAltNav enables alternative RF navigation signal simulation concurrently with GNSS. Combined with SimORBIT, capabilities such as the FLEX signal definition tool on PNT X, and SimIQ enable the generation of novel constellations and signals.
Yes. SimSAAS provides Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) simulation for classified military applications with Space and Missile Systems Center security approval. SimMCODE enables authorized testing of GPS M-Code functions using commercial Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption. SimMNSA implements the Modernized Navstar Security Architecture (MNSA) for next-generation M-Code simulation on PNT X. PNT X also supports Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS) via a third-party module. All require authorization and are available to qualified users. SimGEN also supports AES M-Code testing.
