Keysight 70861Aには、Keysight 70900A/Bに装着される高速ROM/RAMボードにロードされる新しいファームウェアが含まれています。これにより、データをディスクに直接転送できるようになります。このファームウェアを使えば、スペクトラム・アナライザは外部ディスクを読み書きできます。コンピュータは不要です。トレース、ステート、ダウンロード可能プログラム（DLP）、リミット・ラインを保存してリコールできます。単に使用する記憶装置をメモリ・カード、外部ディスク、内部メモリ（32 KB）の中から指定するだけです。
TV、パルスドRF、FMなどの複雑な変調信号から情報を抽出できます。デジタル残光表示は、デジタル表示のストレージおよびプロット機能を保持しながら、アナログ表示の可変輝度をシミュレートします。
