8719D, 8720D and 8722D Firmware Upgrade, Revision 07.14

The 8719D, 8720D and 8722D firmware upgrade, revision 07.14, is compatible with Windows 3.1, Windows NT and Windows 95. operating systems¹.

This firmware upgrade is compatible with all 8719D, 8720D and 8722D vector network analyzers which currently have firmware revision 7.12 or higher. Other versions of the 8719D, 8720D and 8722D require the purchase of Option 000, which is a CPU upgrade kit. Contact your local Keysight service center to schedule this CPU upgrade.

To download the 8719D, 8720D and 8722D firmware upgrade, click on the hyperlink provided below. When the "Save As" dialog box appears, save the 8720d.exe file to your floppy or hard disk.

This file is an MS-DOS self-extracting file. Select start, run and type in the path to the file, or press the browse button to navigate through the directory structure to the file. Select the OK button. This process will uncompress the 8720d_07._14 file² and 8720d714.pdf file which is the firmware installation note provided as a supplement to the installation instructions below. Installation Instructions

Save the 8720D_07._14 file to an MS-DOS formatted 3.5-inch disk. Insert the disk into the network analyzer's floppy-disk drive. If the power is off, turn on the network analyzer to upload the new firmware into the instrument. If the instrument is on, then simply cycle the power to upload the firmware. Once the file has finished uploading, the instrument will display the new firmware revision number. After installation of the firmware upgrade, the 8719D, 8720D or 8722D microwave vector network analyzer is ready for use.

²Do not change the filename. The network analyzer will not recognize and load the file if the filename has been changed.
