What will differ after the licensing structure change:

After August 12, online license operations will not work for iBypass versions 1.4.2 and earlier. If you are licensing through an external server, all licensing will be removed as of August 12. The device will continue to operate with the current configurations. Online license activation is defined as the ability to go directly into iBypass DUO, when the iBypass DUO has an internet connection, to register your license with an activation code. Online licensing will be available after upgrading to version 1.4.3. If you are licesning through an external server, to be able to upgrade to version 1.4.3, you have to first upgrade to the License Server Plus version 5.5.0, and then perform a sync to retrieve a license, after which you can perform the upgrade.

Offline licensing (activation and warranty date update) will be unaffected and continue to work for any iBypass 1.4.x version for license activation. Offline license de-registration will no longer work. Offline licensing activation is defined as requiring an activation by retrieving a license file that has to be loaded on the iBypass DUO from the Keysight licensing portal (web portal) for any upgrades or warranty activation.

• WT20, WT92—version 7.6.4_2021.12.20.10 or earlier
• WT6—version 8.2.1_2022.04.19.14 or earlier

Steps to Upgrade your License Server:

For WaveTest Chassis, WT22, WT93, WT20, and WT92:

First, download the latest IxVeriWave version from this direct link:

After you have downloaded the latest version of the software, install it by performing the following steps:

1. Double-click the IxVeriWave .exe file to start the InstallShield wizard. Select Next to continue.

2. Read the license agreement and select I accept the agreement to continue the installation.

3. Select any additional options, and then select Next.

4. Select Install to begin installing IxVeriWave.

After the IxVeriWave software installation is complete, the Update Firmware Utility dialog box automatically opens, allowing you to update the chassis firmware version. 

After this stage, the license server that is embedded inside the software is ready to use.

For WT6:

First, download the IxVeriWave License Manager from this direct link:

After you have downloaded the latest version of IxVeriWave License Manager, install it by performing the following steps:

1. Double-click the liccense server .exe file to start the InstallShield wizard.

2. Select Next and the license agreement appears.

3. Read the license agreement and select I accept the agreement to continue the installation. The Ready to Install dialog box appears.

4. Select Install. Installation of the License Manager begins, and a progress indicator shows the installation status. To complete the installation, a computer reboot is required.

5. Select the option to restart the computer now or to postpone the reboot for later. Next, select Finish.

6. After rebooting the computer, open the Windows Task Manager. Under Services, the following Windows services should be listed as running: WaveLMAdmin, WaveLMPortmap, and WaveLMSvc.

Accessing the License Manager UI:

1. From the host computer or another computer that is on the same network as the license server, enter the license server's default IP address in a browser's address bar (for example, http://127.0.0.1:5501), and select Enter. The Status page appears listing any available licenses with their associated features. If no licenses are activated yet, the Status page will be blank.

2. Sign in by using veriwave1 as the admin password. This cannot be changed.

3. The Operations, Products, and Features tabs become available after you sign in, allowing you to view and to manage product licenses.
