W1915EP SystemVue mmWave WPAN Baseband Verification

The W1915 mmWave WPAN Baseband Verification Library provides configurable IP reference transit sources for 802.11ad and 802.15.3c wireless communications physical layers operating at 60 GHz (also known as “millimeter-wave WPAN”), so that designers can verify baseband receiver algorithms, system architectures, and RF components. These schematics also interoperate with relevant Keysight test equipment, which ties simulation and hardware testing into a consistent, model-based design flow.

The 802.11ad personality of the W1915 library is interoperable and consistent with the Keysight 81199A Wideband Waveform Center software, which is a standalone test application. While the W1915 is intended primarily for simulation-based validation of 60 GHz standards, it is also capable of interacting with test equipment, through SystemVue’s instrument connectivity.

• Now supports IEEE 802.11ad-2012 version and MCS formats 28 ~ 31 for LPSC

  • IQ Amplitude Imbalance (in dB)
  • LO Quadrature Error
  • I & Q DC Offset (in dB)
  • Frequency error in the received symbol clock (in ppm)
  • EVM vs. time (for specified symbol or frame)
  • EVM vs. frequency (for specified frame)

• Verifies RF Transceiver performance with realistic 60GHz waveforms and scenarios, within SystemVue, or co-simulated with Keysight ADS or GoldenGate

Figure 3. SystemVue can be used to validate realistic 60 GHz system scenarios in early R&D that would be very difficult to build and measure. For example, a CMOS RFIC PA model from Keysight Golden Gate is verified prior to tapeout.

The W1915 also provides a complete model set and TX/RX reference designs for 802.15.3c.

The W1915 mmWave WPAN Baseband Verification Library can be added to any SystemVue environment or bundle.
