Revision 2.0 Release Notes

  • Fully support new modules: N2266A, N2267A, N2268A, N2269A, N2270A, N2280A and N2281A.
  • Save the configuration information to flash RAM
  • Saved states will not be supported by battery. It means that all saved states will be cleared after power off.

Download Instructions Two types of firmware should be upgraded : loader and main firmware.

The new loader:

loader2_0.hex (size: 39,397 bytes)

The new main firmware:

rev2_0.hex (size: 1,432,521 bytes)

Note: Be sure to download both sets of firmware. Be careful when downloading the loader firmware; using the wrong file or selecting the wrong download type by mistake may cause unrecoverable results.

Download Procedure

  • In a DOS command line, run fwload.exe with the parameter -full. (eg: w:\>fwload -full <enter>)
  • Download the Loader rev 2.0; 1. Select the "Download Type" as "Loader", 2. Select the file to be downloaded: loader2_0.hex, 3. Click the button: download, 4. Click the button: OK
  • Download the main firmware rev 2.0; 1. Select the Download Type" as "Main firmware", 2. Select the file to be downloaded: rev2_0.hex, 3. Click the button: download, 4. Click the button: OK

Once completed, check the firmware revision:

  • Main firmware version: Check Revision info on front panel: [Menu]/REVISION INFO/[Enter]. "REVISION 2.0" should be shown on display.
  • Loader version: Enter "download mode": Power off N3499A/B, press down and hold [Shift]+[Enter] keys, then power on. "DOWNLOADER 2.0" should be shown on display. The previous version should show "DOWNLOAD MOD".
Keysight recommends using the most current version, which includes the most up-to-date bug fixes and security patches available.
