- Control manually, or automate via a defined API
- Allocate IPv6 and IPv4 addresses
- Achieve registration, authentication, de-registration
- View detailed call flow logs and ladder diagrams
- Insert error conditions for atypical response testing
Wireless telephony networks are increasing capacity for high throughput Internet Protocol (IP) packed-data by utilizing radio access technologies such as LTE and HSPA. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) are progressively being adopted as part of the network infrastructure to carry traditional wireless telephony services over an all-IP network. SIP provides control of communication sessions whilst IMS is the framework that allows delivery of multimedia services over IP. With this new capability comes the need for developers and operators to move their focus to testing user equipment (UE) in this new network environment.
Keysight offers PC-based software providing an IMS-SIP server emulator (E6966A-1FP) and IMS-SIP client emulator (E6966A-2FP). With this IMS-SIP server and client software you can efficiently test the functionality and performance of your UE operating within an all IP system. Check the processes of registration, authentication and de-registration between UE and server. Exchange voice, video and SMS messages via the UE client to confirm correct operation. The server includes a call flow log and ladder diagram to capture and represent the handshaking between server and clients, essential for verification and also to aid debugging. You can control both Keysight client and server through a manual user interface, or automate your testing process by using the defined .NET application programming interface (API). If your UE includes an embedded client, you may use that in conjunction with our server, or use both the Keysight server and client. Whatever the combination, the server and client support simultaneous end to end user applications, allowing you to recreate real world network test scenarios in a controlled lab environment.
Keysight E6966A IMS-SIP network emulator software is designed to complement the powerful 8960 and PXT wireless test sets, delivering unique capabilities for UE performance testing. These test sets establish data connection to UEs with various radio access technologies, including LTE, W-CDMA/HSPA, and more. For details of these test sets and their performance and conformance test capabilities, see the links in the Options & Accessories tab.
Now available for testing voice quality on Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) 4G phones, Keysight PXT wireless communications test set and IMS-SIP network emulator software may be used with the Brüel & Kjær PULSE Audio Analyzer and Head and Torso Simulator (HATS). The combined system supports testing based on commonly used international standards such as ITU-T P.862 PESQ, 3GPP2 and 3GPP audio test specifications.
Keysight gives you “greater insight” into your UE designs. We do this by providing greater insight into complex wireless technology, evolving standards and how to test to them and deeper insight into the root causes of your design problems.
