Industry 4.0 Compliant Active Monitoring

Many private 5G networks depend on continuous ultra-reliable quality of service to maintain targeted levels of operational efficiency 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Smart factories, ports, smart warehouses, and energy utilities are examples of vertical industries that deploy private 5G networks to wirelessly manage a complex web of interconnected sensors, robots, and instruments. Keysight’s Industry 4.0 compliant active monitoring solution Nemo Industry Probe has been designed to be used in smart factories and warehouses to ensure critical communication in private 5G networks. 5G connectivity allows flexible and adaptable production facilities, for example, in the automotive industry.

Ensure 24/7 Network Service in Smart Factories

Typical use cases that require 5G connectivity include managing robots and self-driving Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in production lines, utilizing augmented and virtual reality for visual verification in smart factories, and utilizing numerous sensors to enable automated inventory control and supply chain management in smart warehouses. These use cases require many wireless connections on the factory floor, ultra-reliable and stable coverage and connectivity, ultra-low latency, significant computational capabilities, and excellent downlink and uplink data rates. Nemo Industry Probe supports early detection of issues, such as wideband noise interference caused by machinery and other radio signals that user equipment is typically subjected to in highly complex environments. When accumulated, these interferences in the network lead to quality of service (QoS) issues that adversely impact the efficiency of an operation.

Deploy and Run 5G Networks Reliably

Nemo Industry Probe enables wireless service providers and national regulators to perform regression testing, i.e., to re-run functional and non-functional tests to ensure that the previously deployed and tested network still performs as expected after it has been updated or changed. Nemo Industry Probes can be used to monitor the agreed service level agreements (SLAs) established to ensure adequate 5G connectivity levels. Typically, Service Level Agreements are used to define service performance metrics such as ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), massive machine-type communications (mMTC), and enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB).

Industry-Leading Technical Features

Nemo Industry Probe has been designed to perform unattended, remote-controlled measurements even in harsh indoor environments. The probe units have effective thermal control with active cooling, and the enclosure is IP65 rated, meaning it is fully dust-tight and protected against splashing, falling, or dripping water. These features make Nemo Industry Probe the industry-leading solution to test 5G networks. The deployed Nemo Industry Probe units can be upgraded with the latest Nemo measurement terminals ensuring flexible and future-proof autonomous testing of the latest technologies.

Seamless End-to-End Solution

Nemo Industry Probe with Nemo Cloud and Nemo analytics solutions provides a complete, automated end-to-end solution to remotely monitor live networks and visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as latency, data connection quality, voice and video quality, and data throughput in real time. These measurements take into account issues such as interference introduced by wideband noise caused by machinery and other radio frequency (RF) signals that user equipment (UE) is typically subjected to in highly complex environments. Automation reduces human errors and helps to identify and correct problems in the network quickly.
