  • Download the firmware from this site for free to a Microsoft Windows based PC and create the firmware upgrade disks
  • Order an upgrade kit as E440xBU-UE2, to receive the firmware on floppy disks (~6 week delivery)
  • Order part number E4401-60403 to receive the firmware on floppy disks (~2 week delivery)

  • Please Note:  There are two different download files available.  Be sure to choose the correct file based on the operating system that your PC or Laptop has installed.  The download file will be initially stored to your PC or Laptop before the firmware disk set is made.

  • Firmware version A.14.06 requires option B72, Expanded Memory to be installed in the instrument.  Press [System], {More}, {Show System} to verify before proceeding. 

  1. Perform a long format to (9) floppy disks
  2. Download the firmware file
  3. Create the firmware disk set
  4. Install the firmware into your ESA Spectrum Analyzer
  5. Restore System Defaults
  6. Perform the instruments self-alignment
  7. Verify the firmware installation
