In the test and measurement industry, the number and complexity of product tests have increased significantly. Most test engineers spend longer hours at work, but many times those hours are not spent doing their core job function—engineering. Research shows that nearly nine in ten employees say they lose time each day on work-specific tasks unrelated to their core job1. A recent survey also revealed that U.S. employees at large-sized companies spend only 45 percent of their workday on primary job duties2. What happens during the other 55 percent of the time?
