Introduction:

Firmware revisions are made to add enhancements and to fix defects. We recommend that you use the latest version of firmware available. To see which revision of firmware you have, press the System key, Service Menu softkey, followed by the Firmware Revision softkey.

Firmware Release Notes:

8703B.01.10 (October 9, 2001) Differences from Release 8703B.01.06:

Electrical modes (all S-parameters) allow continuous sweep. Multiple display modes allow active display to be continuously swept, all other displays on Hold mode.

8703B.01.06 (August 15, 2001) Differences from Release 8703B.01.04:

RF switch settling time implemented. Calibration accuracy increased as a result. Most noticeable in CW mode.

8703B.01.04 (July 24, 2001):

Fix annotation in E/O mode, and O/E mode.

Installing the Firmware:

Download the firmware to a 1.44 MB floppy disk.

After downloading the firmware, insert the disk into the 8703B floppy disk drive. Then power on the unit. Installation will occur automatically. When the upgrade is complete, the normal start-up screen will appear and normal operating procedures can be followed.
