Sample Program: Gummel Plot Measurements with Pulsed Sweep Waveform

This sample application is to perform Gummel plot measurements with pulsed sweep waveform in order to suppressing device self-heating. Traditional pulsed sweep measurements permit only one measurement SMU; however, the Gummel plot measurements need at least two measurement SMUs. It is impossible to perform the Gummel plot measurements with the traditional pulsed sweep measurements. However the combination the multi-channel sweep measurement and program memory function enables the Gummel plot measurements with the pulsed sweep waveform.

This sample program for Gummel plot measurements with pulsed sweep waveform is developed with HP BASIC or HT BASIC environments. After downloading this sample program "PGUMMEL.BAS":

1. Load the PGUMMEL.BAS program by using the GET command in the HP/HT BASIC.
2. Modify necessary parts such as the GPIB address of the ENA.
3. Execute the program by selecting the RUN softkey.

Then the program prompts you to enter filename in which the measurement results are saved. You can make any data processing with your spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel®.
