5DX 8.2.4 Patch - Install Instructions
The Keysight 8.2.4 patch can only by installed on 5DX systems running software release 8.2.3. The 8.2.4 patch is not a cumulative patch.
Preparing the 5DX System for Installation of the Self-Extracting 8.2.4
- Stop inspections and unload all panels from the system.
- From the User Interface, perform a long-term shutdown by selecting System Access > Shutdown > Long-Term Shutdown.
- Exit out of the User Interface.
- Double-click the Keysight 5DX Reset icon to reset the system.
- Check that your 5DX or TDW software license file is named "software.lic". If it is not named "software.lic", please change the name. This will not affect the system operation but will allow the patch to install properly. The file is located c:\5DX\R82\config\license.
- Close all other programs; close any open windows.
Installation of the Self-Extracting 8.2.4 Patch
- Download the file Keysight 5DX Self-Extracting 8.2.4 Patch to a local drive.
- From Windows Explorer, run the Self-Extracting 8.2.4 patch.
- Click Next in the Welcome screen to install the Patch.
- Click Install in the Start Install window.
- Click Finish at the Install Shield Wizard Complete screen. You will not be required to reboot the system. The installation of 8.2.4 is now complete.
Restarting the 5DX System
- Double-click the Keysight 5DX Reset icon to reset the system.
- Double-click the Start 5DX Interface icon to bring up the User Interface.
- Perform a startup by selecting System Access > Startup > Automatic Startup.
Verifying Proper Patch Installation on the 5DX
You may verify that the patch has been properly installed by checking the system version number at the top of the 5DX user interface. The number should reflect 8.2.4 after the installation of the patch.
After Installation of Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
- After you boot into the Windows XP Professional desktop, a "Security Center" utility window will open automatically. If this window does not open automatically, double-click the "Security Center" icon in the system tray (red shield with an 'X' through it).
- On the panel on the left side of the Security Center window, click on "Change the way Security Center alerts me".
- Deselect all boxes and click Ok.
- Close the Security Center window.
- While the 5DX user interface loads, a windows message will open and alert that the Windows firewall has detected a javaw process, would you like to block this process. Select Unblock to continue using javaw. This will be the only time Windows will ask about this process.
