Every piece of gear in your field kit had to prove its worth. Measuring up and earning a spot is the driving idea behind Keysight’s FieldFox microwave analyzers. FieldFox is equipped to handle routine maintenance, in-depth troubleshooting and anything in between. Integrate microwave cable, antenna test, spectrum analysis, vector network analysis, and more to meet all of your test requirements. FieldFox delivers quality microwave measurements — wherever you need to go.

FieldFox is rugged and robust in harsh environments to meet MIL-PRF-28800F Class 2 standards, with a water-resistant chassis, keypad, and a case that withstands shock and vibrations with a temperature range from –10º C to +55º C.

Field-proof usability allows for better answers in less time. A bright, low-reflective display and backlit keys enable easy viewing in direct sunlight or darkness, and an intuitive user interface allows measurements with fewer keystrokes to simplify complicated setups.

Cable and Antenna Test

Cable and antenna measurements are often required to verify and troubleshoot the electrical performance of RF and microwave transmission systems and antennas.

In RF and microwave communications industries, measurements run along the coaxial cable connecting a transmitter to its antenna, and between the antenna and its receiver known as “line sweeping”. Line sweeping is used to estimate the physical location of a fault or damage along the transmission line using the distance-to-fault (DTF) measurement available on FieldFox

You can use antenna measurements, in the form of signal reflection, or return-loss and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), to verify the performance of an antenna at the installation site. When multiple antennas are necessary at an installation site, the antenna-to-antenna isolation is verifiable with FieldFox.

Radar Installation and Verification

Mission-critical radar systems such as civilian air traffic control and military air defense radars must be fully operational at all times. This requires precise system performance validation during installation, routine maintenance, and in-depth troubleshooting. Until now, the only choice was to use expensive and time-consuming lab-grade test equipment.

FieldFox handheld microwave analyzers have all of the instrument functionality you need for RF line replaceable unit unit (LRU) test. No other handheld offers these features in one rugged 7.2 lb. ergonomic package.

Satellite Ground Station Maintenance by Keysight FieldFox

Satellite Ground Station Maintenance

Satellite ground stations must provide very high uplink transmit power, receive very low signals on the downlink, and compensate for link variations due to weather and satellite and ground antenna changes.

There are many sophisticated and delicate RF and microwave components and subsystems in satellite ground stations; antenna subsystems, waveguides, coaxial cables, filters, low-noise amplifiers (LNA), low-noise block downconverters (LNB), block upconverters (BUC), high-power amplifier (HPA), and traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTA).

FieldFox is a multi-function tool that enables you to handle wider frequencies ranges and is ideal for satellite ground station maintenance, operation verification, and installation testing.

Interference Hunting

Design and troubleshooting tasks can be challenging when dealing with fast-moving, elusive signals. Moreover, the challenges grow when these signals exist in complex multi-signal environments. A new tool that eliminates dead time is necessary to detect the most challenging signals.

FieldFox handheld analyzers with real-time spectrum analysis (RTSA) up to 50 GHz can confidently capture every interfering signal in real time with one integrated, lightweight unit. FieldFox RTSA empowers you to detect, locate, and mitigate interference issues.
