How to Supply 400 Hz Avionics Power

AC Power Supply- Single Phase

Supply Stable 400 Hz Avionics Test Power

Single-phase 400 Hz avionics testing requires a stable alternating current (AC) power source that can reproduce the aircraft power frequency while supplying the voltage, current, and apparent power required by the device under test. The source connects directly to aircraft cabin electronics and provides controlled single-phase AC power during development, functional testing, manufacturing, or repair.

The test setup configures the AC power source for the required output voltage and a frequency of 400 Hz, then applies power to the avionics device under test. Output capacity is selected according to the load requirement, while remote interfaces can support automated avionics testing and controlled test sequences. A dedicated single-phase source also allows three-phase AC sources to remain available for equipment that requires all three phases.

400 Hz Avionics AC Power Solution

Supplying 400 Hz avionics power requires a single-phase AC source that can deliver stable voltage and frequency at the power level required by the device under test. The solution uses Keysight essential single-phase AC power sources capable of operation up to 500 Hz, supporting 400 Hz aircraft cabin electronics with models ranging from 500 VA to 4000 VA. Available output ratings extend to 310 V and 20 A depending on the model. The sources provide USB and LAN/LXI Core interfaces as standard, optional GPIB connectivity, and browser-based remote access and control. Their compact form factor also supports efficient use of bench and rack space.
