Power Single-Phase Avionics Devices At 400 Hz

Single-phase avionics equipment testing requires an alternating current (AC) source capable of supplying stable power at the operating frequency used by the device under test, typically 400 Hz. The test setup connects the AC source directly to the avionics device and configures the required output voltage, frequency, current capacity, and apparent power for the load.

During development, manufacturing test, or repair, the source supplies controlled AC power while the avionics equipment operates under the required power conditions. Selecting a source with sufficient output capacity accommodates devices with different load requirements, while remote interfaces enable source control from a computer or automated test environment. A dedicated single-phase source also leaves three-phase AC sources available for devices that require all three phases.

Single-Phase Avionics Power Test Solution

Powering single-phase avionics equipment requires an AC source configured to deliver the voltage, frequency, current, and apparent power required by the device under test. Keysight essential single-phase AC power supplies provide stable single-phase AC power at frequencies up to 500 Hz, covering typical 400 Hz avionics applications. Four models provide capacities from 500 VA to 4000 VA, with maximum ratings up to 310 V and 20 A depending on the model. USB and LAN/LXI Core interfaces are standard, with GPIB available as an option.
