Test Emergency Voice Path

Emergency-call audio performance testing begins with the same controlled eCall environment used for end-to-end functional validation: the in-vehicle system, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), cellular network, and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Engineers establish the emergency-call session through an emulated cellular network, provide the GNSS coordinates required for the in-vehicle system to compile the Minimum Set of Data (MSD), and complete the raw MSD transfer to the PSAP. The workflow then verifies that a voice connection can be established between the vehicle system and the PSAP without using a live mobile network.

When speech-quality analysis is required, the documented solution supports an optional audio analyzer for parallel audio performance testing. Keysight identifies Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) and Perceptual Objective Listening Quality Analysis (POLQA) as supported audio-performance methods. Earlier configuration material describes connecting the audio analyzer through the wireless test system's analog audio path so voice quality can be evaluated during the eCall workflow. Engineers can therefore run the emergency-call sequence, verify the required data transfer and PSAP voice connection, and add controlled speech-quality measurements to the same laboratory setup. The audio step complements the call-level checks while preserving the repeatable network, positioning, and PSAP conditions used for conformance testing.

eCall Emergency Audio Solution

Perform the test by establishing the eCall session in a controlled cellular-network, GNSS, and PSAP environment, completing the required Minimum Set of Data transfer, and then evaluating the voice connection. The solution supports optional audio performance analysis in parallel with the eCall workflow, including PESQ and POLQA methods for speech-quality assessment. Engineers can verify that the in-vehicle system establishes the PSAP voice path while the network and positioning conditions remain under laboratory control. The audio analysis complements end-to-end emergency-call checks and can be added without depending on a live mobile network, keeping the test sequence repeatable.
