Drive Innovation with RSoft Photonic Design Tools

Increase productivity and reduce the cost of physical prototyping with RSoft photonic device tools. Keysight offers a comprehensive portfolio of simulators and optimizers for passive and active photonic and optoelectronic devices, including lasers and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs). The tools integrate with additional optical and semiconductor design tools to accelerate multi-domain co-simulations. For example, use the interoperability between Keysight optical design tools, specifically CODE V and LightTools  for rigorous modeling of nano-textured optical structures and diffraction analysis.

With RSoft photonic device tools, your team can:

  • Accelerate photonic component design using highly accurate algorithms that support rapid virtual prototyping.
  • Discover new design products by creating “what if” product scenarios.
  • Work in a common CAD environment without having to import your optoelectronic or multiphysics design from one software to the next.
  • Automate parameter scanning and optimization using RSoft MOST.
  • Mix and match RSoft photonic simulators, licensing only the products that are relevant to your work.
  • Improve workflows for sensor design, laser design, and more.

New Workflows for High‑Performance Photonic Device Modeling

The RSoft 2026 release delivers new inverse‑design capabilities, faster GPU‑accelerated FDTD simulations, enhanced BSDF workflows, and improved integration with PIC design platforms to enable more efficient photonic device development.

RSOFT ADS Integration

Extend Device Modeling into PIC Design

RSoft Photonic Device Tools integrate with ADS Photonic Designer to connect physics-based device simulation with photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design. Engineers can optimize devices in RSoft, generate reusable models and custom PDK components, and use those results directly within ADS Photonic Designer for circuit simulation, layout development, and performance verification. This workflow helps maintain consistency between device and circuit design activities while reducing manual model transfer between tools.
