Better Radar Transmission And Receiver Tests
Effective automotive radar system design requires comprehensive system validation. Keysight’s automotive radar solutions help your designs achieve maximum efficiency, reliability, and repeatability. Most importantly, they ensure your devices work to the highest safety standards and performance possible.

Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Radar Design
FMCW radar is the key technology used in most automotive radar applications today. Unlike more traditional pulsed radar, FMCW can avoid high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in radar transmission, which simplifies the design process for antennas and RF components like power amplifiers.
Automotive radar systems based on this technology offer more advantages, including better performance with lightweight and low-cost small simplified RF components.

Automotive Radar Signal Analysis
Keysight’s flexible and expandable automotive radar analysis solution offers multiple configurations to meet all your signal analysis requirements. Whether you need to analyze the frequency, timing, and power parameters of the full > or = 4 GHz bandwidth of your signal, or you require a swept-tuned solution that adheres to emissions or European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) regulations, explore what we have to offer.
Performance Radar Signal Analysis
The Keysight E8740A-060 performance radar signal analysis solution provides a wide field-of-view for the most advanced automotive radar performance test and analysis. Measurements include RF power, harmonic, spurious, and spectrum emissions, as well as occupied bandwidth and frequency stability. The solution provides modulation quality, phase noise and noise figure, out-of-band spectral emissions mask (SEM), and adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR).
Basic Plus Radar Signal Analysis
The Keysight E8740A-030 basic plus radar signal analysis solution provides testing for automotive radar signal quality. With slightly less bandwidth than some of the other radar configurations, it costs less and is easier to set up.
Covering frequencies to 6 GHz, as well as higher-banded 60 to 90 GHz, and with 3.5 GHz bandwidth, you can easily verify the transmission accuracy of your radar signals.
Radar conformance test for spurious emissions
The Keysight E8740A-090 radar conformance test for spurious emission provides a method to test for unwanted emissions in the 0 to 330 GHz range in your radar module.
Our software application provides immediate access to accelerate your radar module testing.
INTERFERENCE MITIGATION
With so many automotive radars on the road, along with other signals such as 5G backhaul working in adjacent bands, it becomes increasingly important for radar designers to ensure their devices perform as expected, even in the presence of many different signals.
Keysight offers wide bandwidth, multichannel, high-power output interference solutions so you can create interfering signals to test the robustness of your device in the presence of even the most strenuous interference loads.
Radar Signal Generation
Flexible and powerful signal generation is available through Keysight's E8740A-070 bundle. At the center of the solution is the M8195A arbitrary waveform generator (AWG), which enables the creation of > or = 4 GHz bandwidth signals across multiple channels.*
When coupled with a high-power up-converter to enable mmWave signal creation, this solution allows for generation of complex signals, from FMCW and phase-modulated continuous wave (PMCW) to coded signals such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), and many more. You can also mathematically create your own signals and play them through the AWG.

Radar Target Simulation
Simulating real objects in a lab environment is a challenge for all automotive OEMs and suppliers. With the Keysight radar target simulation solution, you can simulate multiple objects with multiple distances at variable speeds. Your radar device-under-test “sees” these simulated objects as real items, enabling you to explore and analyze how your radar devices work under real-world conditions, all from within your lab.
