Observe V2X Behavior During HIL Testing

V2X HIL testing places a physical device into a controlled application-layer communication environment containing simulated vehicles, infrastructure, and other V2X participants. Monitoring tools can be used alongside the HIL environment to observe the message activity associated with these participants while a defined scenario executes. Engineers can follow how V2X information is exchanged as vehicle positions, traffic conditions, or scenario events change and relate those messages to the observed behavior of the DUT. The documented configuration provides regional monitoring software that works with the selected V2X environment. This gives engineers application-layer visibility during V2X application testing while the physical device remains part of a repeatable laboratory scenario instead of relying only on a live road environment.

Regional monitoring options are documented for ETSI, SAE, and C-SAE environments, allowing the monitoring setup to match the application stack selected for the test. Engineers can run a scenario, observe the resulting V2X messages, and repeat the interaction after a software or configuration change. Scenario generation can represent multiple V2X participants so message activity is viewed in the context of the evolving application situation. Monitoring can therefore support ITS message analysis by showing what communication occurred during a controlled HIL test and how it aligns with device behavior. In this use case, ITS message analysis refers to application-layer observation during V2X HIL testing. It does not imply RF analysis, protocol certification, or independent conformance testing, which are outside the documented role of the Hive HIL configuration.

V2X Application Monitoring Solution

Run a controlled V2X HIL scenario and monitor the application-layer message activity exchanged between simulated participants and the physical DUT. The documented configuration provides regional monitoring options for ETSI, SAE, and C-SAE environments so engineers can observe communication using the stack appropriate to the test. Scenario tools can establish the participating vehicles or infrastructure and the events that drive the interaction, while monitoring software provides visibility into the messages generated during execution. Engineers can repeat the scenario after DUT or software changes and compare the application interaction under consistent conditions. This supports V2X message monitoring, ITS message analysis, and V2X application testing during laboratory validation. The workflow is intended to provide application-layer visibility and should not be presented as RF analysis, certification, or protocol-conformance testing.
