HIGHLIGHTS

The Power Integrity Bundle: ADS Core, TransConv, Harmonic Balance, Layout, PIPro is recommended for the Power Integrity (PI) analysis of PCB Power Delivery Networks. It enables the user to design power delivery networks that have a low and optimally flat impedance versus frequency. PIPro is a suite of electromagnetic (EM) simulators, specifically for computing the DC IR drop across power and ground planes, computing the AC PDN impedance, and the power-plane resonances. The resulting EM model(s) can then be used with transient or harmonic balance to further refine the choice of decoupling capacitors, and view waveforms at the VRM or IC sinks. With the flexibility to combine SPICE models, behavioral models of the VRM and S-parameter models for passive components, this is a complete package for PI design tasks. One further benefit of this bundle is the inclusion of Harmonic Balance simulation, which enables the ability to determine in a very fast simulation, the harmonic content of the power supply, which has a great impact of energy efficiency.

This bundle does not contain Channel Simulation and is therefore not suited to high-speed serial, Signal Integrity analysis. Please refer to the W2223BP/BT for both SI and PI design tasks.
