Accelerated Radio Frequency Spur Search

Swept spur search requires a signal analyzer configuration that balances sweep span, resolution bandwidth, video bandwidth, detector selection, attenuation, averaging, and limit evaluation. The measurement scans a defined radio frequency range to identify narrowband unwanted emissions, harmonic products, mixer products, residual clock tones, or other spurious signals that exceed amplitude thresholds. Engineers typically configure the sweep range, reference level, input attenuation, bandwidth settings, and detection method based on the expected signal environment and required spur visibility.

The test works by optimizing swept spectrum settings for the expected spur width, frequency coverage, and amplitude range. Engineers can reduce unnecessary dwell time by selecting appropriate bandwidth and detector settings, applying segmented frequency ranges, and using markers or limit lines to capture spur frequency, amplitude, and margin results. In automated workflows, the analyzer can repeat the sweep, compare results against defined limits, and export measurement data for pass/fail reporting, trend analysis, or further debug.

Accelerated Spur Search Solution

Performing a faster swept spur search requires configuring the analyzer to scan the required frequency range with the right balance of speed, sensitivity, and frequency resolution. Keysight XA5 signal analyzer optimizes sweep parameters, reduces measurement time, and maintains visibility into low-level spurious responses. Engineers can use the analyzer’s spectrum measurement capabilities together with Keysight X-Series Measurement Application software to configure swept spectrum measurements, markers, traces, limit lines, and automated measurement setups. This combination helps accelerate test validation with remote automation over LAN for repeatable spur-search routines, segmented sweeps, marker-based spur identification, and export of spur frequency.
