Isolated Chamber Wireless OTA Testing features the Keysight (formerly Spirent) Octobox product family.
Validating wireless device performance requires a controlled, interference-free environment that delivers repeatable results. The Keysight Octobox Isolated Chamber Wireless Over-the-Air (OTA) Testing family addresses this with stackable anechoic testbeds that isolate devices from interference and create a stable RF environment for throughput, roaming, and performance measurements. Each testbed arrives with a built-in turntable, multipath emulator, interference generator, internal antennas, and programmable RF attenuators. With support for Wi-Fi standards through 802.11be — including Wi-Fi 7 and the 6 GHz band — the Octobox Stack series helps service providers, device manufacturers, and chipset vendors accelerate wireless validation through automated testing.
Stackable anechoic chambers block external interference and create a stable environment for repeatable throughput and performance measurements.
Add software packages for station validation, mesh characterization, TR-398 access point benchmarking, and RFC 2544 performance testing — each with repeatable, automated test execution.
Three Stack tiers (Min, Mid, and Max) support access point, mesh, and station testing with configurable station capacity and test locations.
Built-in turntable, multipath emulator, and interference generator reproduce a programmable range of conditions from ideal MIMO to challenging real-life impairments.

The Octobox Stack testbeds support testing of access points, stations, and mesh systems across Wi-Fi standards from 802.11b through 802.11be, including the 6 GHz band. With the Pal-7 test instrument, the testbed also validates 5G device performance. The platform accommodates devices from chipset vendors, device manufacturers, and service providers.
Each tier offers increasing test capacity and capability. Stack-Min provides single-location testing with basic station capacity. Stack-Mid adds multi-location testing, expanded station partners, and multiple-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) over-the-air (OTA) support. Stack-Max delivers the full range of test capabilities, including tri-band throughput, orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), and the highest station capacity across all configuration families.
Each Stack tier — Min, Mid, and Max — is available in three configuration families: Stack-AP-7 for access point testing, Stack-Mesh for mesh network testing, and Stack-STA-7 for station device testing. This yields nine total hardware configurations, each optimized for its target test scenario.
Four software packages extend the testbed's automation capabilities. The STA Automation Package covers station device performance validation. The TR-398 Test Automation Package runs Broadband Forum TR-398 issue 3 access point test cases. The RFC 2544 Test Automation Package automates Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) RFC 2544 benchmark testing. The Mesh Test Automation Package characterizes mesh network performance using simulated real-world home environments.
Yes. The Synchrosniffer captures packets in PCAP format to Wireshark in real time, with all probe radios synchronized via Precision Time Protocol (PTP). The aggregate multiprobe view helps analyze complex band steering, roaming, and mesh behavior in the presence of motion, interference, path loss, and device orientation changes.
Yes. Every testbed configuration includes a control and automation server with a browser-based user interface and a REST application programming interface (API). The server stack uses MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js. All Pal test instruments and Multiperf traffic endpoints are controllable through the API for fully automated test execution.
