Keysight’s PROPSIM Channel Emulators offer advanced full-stack end-to-end real-world performance testing of wireless devices, network infrastructure equipment, WLAN access points, and satellite communication in a laboratory environment.

PROPSIM Channel Emulation Solutions enable full stack end-to-end protocol signaling and RF performance testing of wireless devices using uncompromised, coherent real-world complex 3D propagation channels.

Keysight’s entire range of PROPSIM Channel Emulators supports the PROPSIM Geometric Channel Modeling Tool (GCM).

PROPSIM F32 offers validated capabilities for LTE-Advanced Performance Testing:

  • Up to 32 bi- and unidirectional RF interface channels and 128 internal channels for flexible multi-link scenario testing
  • Single F32 supports LTE Carrier Aggregation testing up to 8CC bands, each 40MHz wide
  • Uplink MIMO, LTE 3D beamform testing e.g. 16x8-Bi or up to 64x4-Bi
  • MANET emulation: up to 32 radios in chain, and 11 radios in full mesh network topology
  • RF interface channel frequency range 30 to 2700 MHz or 350 to 6000MHz

PROPSIM F8 offers unrivalled RF channel emulation capabilities and accuracy. It is widely used by the industry to perform MIMO testing for WLAN 802.11ac chipset research and design verification as it supports up to 160 MHz signal bandwidth with MU-MIMO and 3D beamforming.

PROPSIM FS8 is a compact RF channel emulator for LTE performance testing, supporting the following capabilities:

  • Up to 8 bi- and unidirectional RF and 32 internal digital channels for flexible multi-link scenario testing
  • Single FS8 supports LTE Carrier Aggregation testing up to 4CC bands, each 40MHz wide
  • MIMO emulation: 2x2, 4x2, 4x4, 8x2, 8x4
  • MANET emulation: up to 8 radios in chain, and 5 radios in full mesh network topology
  • RF interface channel frequency range 30 to 2700 MHz or 350 to 6000MHz

GCM Channel Studio

Keysight’s F9860A GCM Channel Studio harvests the powerful PROPSIM platform by enabling the customers to create complex channel models and test scenarios. It simplifies the creation of multi-link test scenarios for wireless testing and special radio systems testing. The GCM tool supports user-defined 3D spatial scenarios and dynamic modeling of movement for 5G testing:

  • UMi, UMa, O2I and I2O
  • CDL and TDL
  • WINNER
  • SCME

The F9860A GCM Channel Studio supports importing 3D antenna models. It offers 3GPP-defined channel models to test V2X safety applications as well as for on board Wi-Fi and cellular connection. In addition, device-to-device topologies are supported. The F9860A GCM Channel Studio provides an interface to import data, which allows advanced users to bring test scenarios from external simulation tools.
