Verify Repaired mmWave Devices Over The Air

Repair testing of a 5G millimeter-wave device requires an over-the-air (OTA) path between the repaired device and the RF measurement platform. A compact chamber allows the device to be placed on a repair bench while horn antennas provide the transmit and receive interfaces required for the measurement.

The measurement path can be selected using integrated RF switches, and the horn antenna positions can be adjusted for the device under test. Locating the millimeter-wave radio head close to the antenna connections shortens the high-frequency RF path while the chamber provides a repeatable physical setup for post-repair checks.

mmWave Repair Test Solution

Perform a repair check by placing the serviced device inside the chamber and establishing an over-the-air link to the external measurement platform. The F9681A is explicitly designed for repair, production, and bench-top testing and provides four adjustable horn antennas, integrated RF switches, and mounting space for an M1740A mmWave transceiver close to the antenna connections. It can be combined with either an E6681A EXM-WB or E7515B UXM 5G test platform. The chamber's compact form factor allows it to be installed directly at a repair bench while retaining the controlled OTA measurement arrangement used for millimeter-wave device checks.
