Device Security
Inspector Software brings acquisition, automation, analysis, and reporting together in an integrated environment for device security testing. From capturing and analyzing side-channel measurements to automating fault injection campaigns and detecting leakage before silicon fabrication, Inspector helps security teams uncover vulnerabilities, validate countermeasures, and make informed security decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
Built on more than 20 years of device security innovation, Inspector combines over 100 specialized modules supporting Side-Channel Analysis (SCA), Fault Injection (FI), and Pre-Silicon Side-Channel Analysis. Teams can capture power or electromagnetic measurements from a device, creating measurement traces that can be processed and analyzed for potential security leakage, apply proven and advanced analysis techniques, coordinate complex fault injection hardware, automate large-scale test campaigns, and investigate potential side-channel leakage at the design level. With source code available for approximately 95% of modules, together with Python and Java API support, teams can customize methodologies, integrate existing workflows, and extend Inspector as their security requirements evolve.
Whether building a new security capability or scaling an established evaluation lab, Inspector provides a structured and expandable environment designed to support security validation from pre-silicon design through post-silicon testing. Advanced capabilities, including AI-assisted analysis and support for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) evaluations, help teams address emerging attack techniques and prepare for evolving security and certification requirements.
Combined with Keysight training, device security expertise, and ongoing support, Inspector helps organizations build capabilities over time, adapt their testing strategies to emerging threats, and perform security evaluations with greater efficiency, repeatability, and confidence.
Watch Marc Witteman, Founder of Riscure Security Solutions, share the fundamentals of device security, common attack techniques, and where the industry is headed next.

Inspector is Keysight’s software environment for device security testing. It supports Side-Channel Analysis (SCA), Fault Injection (FI), and Pre-Silicon Side-Channel Analysis, bringing together data acquisition, hardware control, automation, analysis, and reporting capabilities across different stages of the security evaluation workflow.
Inspector supports three primary areas:
Inspector provides the software environment for controlling and coordinating supported Keysight Device Security hardware. Depending on the methodology and test setup, Inspector can support measurement acquisition, triggering, positioning, fault generation, campaign automation, signal processing, and analysis.
This integration helps teams move from individual instruments toward a more structured, repeatable, and automated device security testing workflow.
It depends on the Inspector solution and testing workflow. Post-silicon Side-Channel Analysis and Fault Injection typically combine Inspector with compatible measurement or fault injection hardware.
Pre-Silicon Side-Channel Analysis works with design and simulation data, so physical silicon is not required for that stage of the evaluation.
The Keysight Device Security team can help determine the appropriate software and hardware configuration based on your existing lab and testing requirements.
Yes. Automation is a core part of the Inspector platform. Depending on the software configuration, Inspector can help automate data acquisition, analysis workflows, parameter exploration, fault injection campaigns, and other repetitive testing activities.
This becomes particularly valuable as evaluations grow in complexity and teams need to process larger datasets or explore many different test conditions.
Yes. Inspector provides structured workflows that can help teams establish Side-Channel Analysis and Fault Injection capabilities, while more advanced packages support experienced evaluators and high-assurance security laboratories.
Keysight also provides training and expert guidance to help new teams develop practical device security testing expertise.
Yes. Inspector is designed to support extensible security testing workflows. Source code is available for approximately 95% of modules, and Python and Java API support enables teams to customize methodologies, automate processes, and integrate Inspector with existing test environments and internal workflows.
Yes. Keysight provides training, device security expertise, and ongoing support to help teams understand relevant security methodologies, establish effective testing workflows, and use Inspector together with the appropriate hardware.
This support can help organizations build internal expertise and adapt their testing capabilities as technologies, threats, and security requirements evolve.
