EV Charging Test
Ensure EV and EV supply equipment interoperability and conformance

Emulate Charging Infrastructure

Electric vehicles (EVs) and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) must conform to different global standards for operational safety and performance. With shorter EV design and development cycles and the ramp-up of global charging infrastructure, ensuring EV and EVSE compatibility is critical for time-to-market success.
Testing each new EV model for conformance to charging standards and ensuring interoperability is vital. But it is impractical to test EV models against every real-life charging station.
Ideally, you would configure your test system to act as an EVSE. Doing so allows you to automatically test all varieties of AC and DC charging interfaces. The test system also enables you to test communication protocols between a real EV and a charging station.

Testing EV Charging Interfaces
To improve test coverage, you can use a configurable test system for various EV use cases, such as validating the charging interfaces with different EVSE models or testing protocol communications between the EV and EVSE. Access to comprehensive test case libraries for charging conformance and interoperability standards can help you quickly and easily get valid test results.

EV Testing with High-Power DC Charging
Here, a high-power EV test system (center) with an interchangeable liquid-cooled charging adapter serves as a universal, configurable DC charging infrastructure. Using the high-power DC emulator (left), you can emulate a high-power DC charging infrastructure of up to 600 A.
You can use it for functional testing of the charging interface of any EV, as well as for safety, interoperability, conformance, and durability tests.

EV Testing with AC Charging
In this case, the test system (center) acts as a configurable AC charging infrastructure. Using the AC emulator (left), you can emulate an AC charging infrastructure of up to 100 A.
You can use it for functional testing of charging interfaces of any EV, as well as for safety, interoperability, conformance, and durability tests.

Person-in-the-Middle Testing
Here, the high-power test system connects two real devices under test to capture all electrical signals and digital communication between a (high-power) EVSE and EV. The user can identify and trace potential interoperability issues.
