O-RAN Fronthaul Validation Made Simple
Successfully deployed by multiple industry leaders, Keysight’s RuSIM solution is a 4G and 5G user equipment (UE) and O-RAN radio unit (O-RU) emulator. RuSIM enables infrastructure vendors, chipset providers, and mobile operators to easily perform functional, conformance, and performance testing of O-RAN distributed units (O-DUs) over fronthaul functional split option 7.2x. Fully scalable and virtualized, the solution runs on commercial-off-the-shelf Intel servers without the need for layer-1 hardware accelerators or special-purpose hardware and offers a migration path to the Cloud.
RuSIM enables you to verify the network by generating internet protocol (IP) traffic load. The solution simulates applications running on thousands of concurrent devices with real voice and data sessions. You can assess the full protocol stack for 4G and 5G New Radio (NR) for both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) architectures over the enhanced Common Public Radio Interface (eCPRI). An optional wrap-around testing configuration using CuSIM, Keysight’s O-RAN central unit (O-CU) emulator, enables full stack O-DU testing. CoreSIM, Keysight’s core network emulator, makes O-DU+O-CU wrap-around testing possible.
