The UN R155 regulation necessitates two critical aspects for automakers. The cybersecurity management system audit thoroughly examines the cybersecurity processes adopted by automakers and suppliers. Simultaneously, auditors assess vehicle products based on their alignment with the UN R155 regulation within the vehicle’s electrical architecture during vehicle-type approval testing.

 

Automakers must undergo and successfully pass cybersecurity management system audits that validate the robustness of cybersecurity processes implemented across the industry ecosystem. Auditors assess vehicle products under the same electrical architecture to ensure compliance with UN R155 standards. The Keysight Base Vehicle Test System results from a collaboration between UN R155, Keysight, and Block Harbor. This cutting-edge platform’s design addresses the complex requirements of UN R155 and its various mitigations. The Base Vehicle Test System consists of a comprehensive collection of test scripts positioned at the base vehicle level. The scripts evaluate mitigations M1 through M24, which cover critical attack surfaces relevant to modern automotive vehicles.

 

The configuration for the system is through a user-friendly interface within the Keysight PathWave Lab Operation software. Users can create a vehicle type and configure the base vehicle settings. Moreover, the system enables mapping requirements from a requirements tool to specific mitigations, as outlined in the UN R155 regulation, which includes M1 through M24. The test initiates at the component, vehicle system, or whole vehicle level.

 

Upon test execution, the Base Vehicle Test System undertakes the prescribed test cases associated with the chosen mitigation. The solution generates real-time results as tests progress, providing a comprehensive overview of the testing process. After completing the test cases for base vehicle testing, users can gain insights from detailed test plan reports. The reports automatically generate and consolidate all test results, providing a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s compliance with UN R155.
