Python programming is growing in popularity as it is easy to learn and available free of charge. Python, along with sockets, can send SCPI commands to an instrument with a LAN interface. In this paper, Python programming configures a system power supply.

Python programming is whitespace sensitive and uses indentation for flow control. To get started with Python, you will need to download a free version and an open environment such as Microsoft Visual Studio Code.
