Automate 5G mmWave Production Measurements

Automated millimeter-wave production testing requires a repeatable over-the-air (OTA) measurement path, controlled radio-frequency routing, and a chamber that can be incorporated into the test sequence. The device is loaded into the chamber and measured through the selected horn antenna and external test platform.

Integrated switching controls the RF path while a pneumatic chamber door can be controlled through Ethernet as part of the production workflow. Mounting the radio head close to the horn antenna connections keeps the millimeter-wave path short, while the compact chamber can be installed in a rack or on a production bench.

Automated 5G Production Test Solution

Automate the measurement sequence by coordinating chamber access, radio-frequency path selection, device communication, and test execution. The F9681A includes integrated switches and a pneumatic door that can be controlled over Ethernet, providing hardware functions suitable for an automated production environment. Four adjustable horn antennas establish OTA paths to the device, while an M1740A mmWave transceiver can be mounted close to the antenna connections. The chamber can operate with an E6681A EXM-WB or E7515B UXM 5G platform. Its compact rack or bench form factor allows the OTA stage to be incorporated into production systems without requiring a large chamber installation.
