- The N995xA and N996xA are significantly faster than the N991xA and N992xA. Across most frequency ranges, the N995xA and N996xA offer the highest dynamic range and best DANL. Their measurement accuracy is comparable. For a more detailed comparison of specifications, please refer to the technical documentation .
- The N993xA and N996xA (spectrum analyzer only) can measure VSWR/reflection (as an option), but do not have the full functionality of a cable and antenna analyzer.
- The N9912A provides S11 amplitude and phase measurements, as well as S21 amplitude measurements. S21 phase measurements are not included. Calibration options: OSL, response, and QuickCal.
- The QuickCal of the N9912A is a subset of the QuickCal of other FieldFox models.
- QuickCal cannot be used with N9950A, N9951A, and N9952A.
- The N9912A VVM includes the following features: 1-port cable management, amplitude, and phase; 2-port transmission amplitude. A complete VVM (available in other models) includes 1-port cable management, amplitude, and phase; 2-port transmission amplitude and phase; A/B and B/A.
- FieldFox's interference analyzer features include spectrograms, waterfall plots, trajectory playback, and recording.
- ERTA: Extended Range Transmission Analysis. ERTA uses two FieldFox instruments to perform scalar measurements on long, lossy cables.
- The N9912A and N9923A can display GPS information using an external USB GPS receiver, which needs to be purchased separately. All other FieldFox models come with a built-in GPS receiver (option 307). Users need to purchase a GPS antenna, N9910X-825.
- SCPI over USB is only applicable to N995xA and N996xA models; it is not applicable to N991xA, N992xA, and N993xA analyzers.
