The Advanced Tools software add-on provides access to advanced tools such as model Re-centering, QA in the Model Generator.

As a semiconductor process evolves during its life cycle, modeling teams must quickly turn around updated model libraries whenever new specs are available. The re-centering tool included in the W7008E helps modeling engineers accomplish this task efficiently. To begin model recentering, the transistor models from the current library are used as a reference point. Then, updated values for Figure-of-merits (FOMs) are provided. These updated FOMs represent the new targets as the process has changed. Recentering uses tuning and optimization techniques to adjust important model parameters to align the model with the new targets. The tools provide the ability to adapt trend plots in real time and efficiently simulate data points from various devices and temperatures. A recentering project using the new Machine Learning Optimizer shows how to automate the extraction process.
IC-CAP guides you through the necessary steps, from importing targets to automatically setting up trend plots for tuning and optimization. Additionally, you can monitor overall errors through a convenient table and generate reports.
In addition to recentering, the W7008E now features the new Model Generator QA tool (MGQA). MGQA enables you to examine the extracted model when simulated outside the measurement ranges, allowing you to assess its robustness. It also facilitates the comparison of simulated results from two commercial simulators, such as ADS and HSPICE, for the same model cards or sub-circuit. Additionally, the tool generates detailed reports summarizing the simulated results in tables and plots.
The W7008E add-on requires the W7300B IC-CAP Modeling Platform or the following elements: W7001E IC-CAP Core Environment and the W7010E IC-CAP Simulation and Analysis.
