Test Regional Emergency Call Modes

eCall and ERA-GLONASS conformance testing requires a controlled environment that combines the in-vehicle system (IVS) under test with GNSS simulation, cellular network emulation, and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) emulation. Engineers place the in-vehicle system in a controlled laboratory call environment, supply simulated position coordinates, and use an emulated cellular connection instead of a live mobile network. The same framework supports Pan-European eCall and ERA-GLONASS so regional test behavior can be evaluated with repeatable call, positioning, and service conditions. Automated test cases can then be applied against supported CEN, ETSI, and GOST requirements. Static and dynamic GNSS inputs provide repeatable location scenarios.

The test sequence checks whether the in-vehicle system or modem can trigger the emergency call, send the correct raw Minimum Set of Data (MSD), and establish a voice connection with the PSAP. Source material also identifies automatic and manual triggering, correct emergency-call flag behavior, result logging, acknowledgements, negative acknowledgements, and timers as important conformance checks and troubleshooting outputs. Engineers can repeat the sequence with controlled GNSS and network conditions while observing the data exchange and call state from end to end. Optional audio analysis can be included when the workflow also needs speech-quality evaluation of the voice connection between the vehicle system and the PSAP.

eCall / ERA-GLONASS Conformance Solution

Perform the test by emulating the cellular network, providing controlled GNSS coordinates, and connecting the in-vehicle system to PSAP software that manages the emergency-call workflow. The solution supports end-to-end functional and standards-based testing for Pan-European eCall and ERA-GLONASS, including automated conformance test cases. Engineers can verify emergency-call initiation, raw Minimum Set of Data transmission, and establishment of the PSAP voice connection while remaining independent of a live mobile network. Static and dynamic GNSS inputs support repeatable positioning scenarios, and optional audio analysis can run in parallel when speech-quality evaluation is part of the test plan.
