HIGHLIGHTS
Signal analysis
- Analyze up to 1,000 continuous pulses at a time and up to 200,000 statistically
- Multiple views enable concurrent analysis in the power vs. time, frequency vs. time, phase vs. time or power vs. frequency domains
- Runs inside the X-Series signal analyzers or on a PC for the PSA spectrum analyzer
Available on CXA up to 7.5 GHz models
Measurements
- Base features (Option 2FP) allow users to make PRI/PRF, pulse width, duty cycle, rise/fall, droop, overshoot, ripple as well as limited statistical analysis
- The phase and frequency (Option 3FP) enable pulse-to-pulse phase, bandwidth, start/stop frequency, chirp slope, chirp deviation and more
- The extended analysis (Option 4FP) allows for statistical analysis of up to 200,000 pulses by trend analysis or histogram plots
- Up to 10 markers and zooming features allow easy measurements for changes in the time for the power, frequency, or phase domains
Performance (hardware dependent)
- Spur free dynamic range: better than -72 dBc
- Rise time: > 8 ns
- Pulse width: > 40 ns
Other features
- License key upgradeable
- Runs on a PC or on the X-Series instrument
The N9051A pulse measurement software is one in a common library of more than 25 measurement applications in the Keysight X-Series, an evolutionary approach to signal analysis that spans instrumentation, measurements and software. The combination of the N9051A and a Keysight signal analyzer performs calibrated pulse analysis for signals up to 50 GHz in carrier frequency. Quickly characterize pulse performance using a wide range of parameters. When adding Option 3FP, it is possible to analyze frequency and phase measurements. This enables analysis of compressed or modulated pulses and also stability metrics. Finally, with Option 4FP the pulse analyzer software can evaluate trend behavior of a catalog of pulses with advanced statistical analysis.
Pulse measurements
- Characterize pulse performance using a wide range of parameters including pulse width, rise/fall time and much more in accordance with IEEE 181 standards
- Use the six registers to display the following functions: raw data, maximum hold, minimum hold, average, added data and subtracted data
- Pulse phase and frequency measurements allow measurements for pulse-to-pulse phase changes or chirp analysis
- Up to a 1000 pulses are individually analyzed or view trends and statistics of up to 200,000 pulses
- Statistical analysis can be done visually by viewing data values over time and with histograms, or by viewing metrics such as mean, max, min, std. deviation, RMS, and more…
