The E6701A GPRS lab application for the 8960 Series 10 test set provides critical capabilities to verify the performance of your latest digital device designs. This lab application, designed specifically for wireless device development, simplifies the complex task of integrating subsystems and software, and verifying product functionality and performance of a GPRS wireless device.
By providing an RF connection to a GPRS device and a LAN connection to the internet, the E6701A emulates the functionality of a base station, SGSN and GGSN on a bench. The signaling features allow you to transfer data between the device and the network, log protocol messages from Layer 1 to IP, and measure BLER during data transfer. Timing advance, uplink state flag and many cell parameters are also user-settable to allow you to resolve timing and configuration issues.
In addition to the signaling features, you also get full parametric testing capability that can be done concurrently with the data transfer and protocol logging. You get all the benefits of the E1964A GPRS mobile test application: essential call-processing functionality, extremely fast, accurate and repeatable transmitter measurements, full receiver test capabilities, realistic multi-slot configurations, and realistic data coding configurations. Production test engineers can use the same 8960 measurement capability to provide consistency and correlation between R&D and manufacturing test data.
