Keysight E6392A Firmware Upgrade

This firmware upgrade is only applicable for the Keysight E6392A GSM MS Test Set.

If you own an E6392A, you will want to install this firmware upgrade to maximize performance. You can download the free firmware upgrade software and the firmware file.

Caution: This feature is supported by the firmware revision A.01.05 or later. If your firmware version of the E6392A is A.01.04, DO NOT upgrade. Please contact your sales person.

Operating Environment for Download Program

Running the Download Program requires the following environment:

Communications cable: An RS-232C cross cable to which Keysight Technologies recommends the Keysight 34398A RS-232 Cable Kit.

PC: A PC/AT compatible machine with 32 or more Mbytes memory where a processor that performs equal to or better than the Pentium is mounted on the CPU.

Operating system: Windows® 95/NT 4.0

(Keysight Technologies has tested only on the English version)

Just in case this program can not run on your PC, you can purchase SRAM memory cards to upgrade the firmware. Please contact nearest Keysight Technologies sales office.

Instructions for Downloading the "E6392A Download Program" and firmware file are summarized in these steps:

1. Download from this Web site the program and firmware files onto your computer.

2. Both of these files are self extracting .exe files. Extract by running them (double-click etc).

3. Run the Program file which will then instruct you through the process of sending the firmware file to the E6392."

Instructions for details:

1. Create a folder on your hard drive for the "E6392 Download Program" and the firmware file.

2. Activate the hyperlink to the program.

• If you want to install from your hard drive, activate the hyperlink to the "Download Program, 6392dlh2.exe" provided.
• If you want to install from floppy disks, activate the hyperlink to the "Download Program, 6392dlf2.exe" provided. After unpacking 6392dlf2.exe, follow the instructions in the README.txt file, then you can make two floppy disks to install.

3. When the download window appears, type in the appropriate path name of the folder you created on your hard drive, and press the save button.

4. Activate the hyperlink to the firmware file, then down load it to the same folder.

5. Start the Windows Explorer. Open the folder you created and double click the file you downloaded. This will unpack the self-extracting archive into your folder.

6. Follow the detailed instructions provided in the README.txt to set up the "Keysight E6392 Download Program".

7. The firmware file, RevA01xx.exe is a self-extracting compressed file. Double click it then you'll get the RevA01xx.hex file.
