Software (Open Software Tools) – IVI-COM and SCPI drivers are provided on all Keysight Open instruments. Additionally, IVI-C and LabVIEW drivers are now being provided for new instruments. This allows you to program your instrument from virtually any test development environment such as Microsoft Visual Basic, C, MATLAB, Keysight VEE Pro, LabVIEW, Visual Basic.NET, Visual C++, Visual C# or in Microsoft Office environments such as Excel. In addition, Keysight provides online resources such as sample code and application notes to help simplify system development.

Connectivity (PC-Standard I/O) – All Keysight Open instruments contain either a LAN or USB interface. Most contain LAN, GPIB, and USB interfaces. This allows you to integrate Keysight Open instruments into existing GPIB-based test racks, then migrate easily as you move to LAN or USB-based test systems. Keysight interface gateways and converters allow you to use your existing GPIB equipment seamlessly with LAN or USB. Since LAN and USB are built into new PCs, there is no need to add an expensive GPIB card when building new test systems. As you move to LAN or USB, you can take advantage of the additional capabilities provided by these interfaces.

Hardware (System-Ready Instruments) – Keysight Open instruments contain extra user and programming-friendly features not available on traditional instruments. For instance, LXI-based Keysight Open instruments allow direct control and monitoring of the instrument from the built-in web page. Keysight Open instruments provide modes that allow compatible programming regardless of whether GPIB, USB, or LAN interfaces are used. Built-in intelligence simplifies programming and provides advanced capabilities that are not available on other instruments.
