What is Cover-Extend Technology (CET) ?
Proven in high volume manufacturing, CET is a hybrid technology between the popular VTEP and the standardized Boundary Scan methodology – resulting in a powerful solution for limited-access PCBAs.

The award-winning solution uses the on-board Boundary Scan devices to drive stimulus into the device-under-test (DUT) for the VTEP sensor plates to capacitively pick up – thereby detecting faults.

Using Boundary Scan to drive the stimulus that VTEP needs means you do not need to provide for physical test points at those Boundary Scan pin outputs leadings into your DUT (Device-Under-Test).

In fact, based on a study on a notebook product, the savings can be up to 28% of total nodes. This number can be higher on other products.

Do Not Require Special Boundary Scan Instructions
