Synchronize NV Spin Control And Readout

The experiment requires a nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center ensemble, optical excitation and fluorescence detection, microwave pulse generation, and synchronized signal acquisition. Generate the microwave control sequence with an arbitrary waveform generator and deliver the resulting signal to the NV ensemble while coordinating optical initialization and readout. The pulse timing determines the spin-control operation applied during each experimental sequence.

Collect the spin-state-dependent fluorescence with a photodetector and digitize the resulting signal in synchronization with the control sequence. Sweep the microwave frequency or pulse timing depending on the experiment, then process repeated acquisitions to obtain the ensemble response. Pulsed sequences can be used to examine coherent spin behavior while synchronized generation and acquisition maintain the timing relationship between control and measurement.

NV Center Quantum Control Solution

Generate synchronized microwave control pulses and acquire the corresponding optical response from the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center ensemble. The solution combines arbitrary waveform generation, high-speed digitization, and PXIe-based synchronization to coordinate control and measurement events within the experiment. The waveform generator creates the microwave control sequence, while the digitizer captures the spin-state-dependent fluorescence signal produced during optical readout. Synchronizing these functions provides deterministic timing between initialization, microwave manipulation, and measurement. The modular architecture also supports changes to pulse sequences and acquisition timing as the experiment moves between resonance measurements and coherent-control protocols.
