EV Onboard Charger Test Requirements

 

Electric vehicles (EVs) have built-in AC-to-DC converters that convert AC power from the grid into DC for charging the battery. This built-in converter is known as an onboard charger (OBC). OBC and charging system power have increased and evolved from 1-phase to 3-phase to reduce charging time.

  • accurate output voltage and frequency programming and measurement
  • built-in power simulation and sequencer for AC line transients to simulate power interruption
  • built-in harmonics analyzer to measure amplitude and phase of voltage and current waveforms up to the 50th harmonic
