Highlights

The Mobile Device Test System Location Technology Solution delivers comprehensive performance and conformance testing for location-equipped wireless devices across 5G, LTE, and Wi-Fi networks using multiple A-GNSS technologies in a single system.

Multi-constellation A-GNSS support

  • Tests GPS (L1 and L5), GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo satellite constellations simultaneously
  • Supports A-GNSS, Observed Time Difference of Arrival (OTDOA), Enhanced Cell ID (ECID), and Wi-Fi measurement for positioning
  • Covers Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) 2.0, LTE Positioning Protocol (LPP), LPP Extensions (LPPe), Radio Resource Location Protocol (RRLP), and IS-801-1

5G and multi-mode device testing

  • Addresses 5G NR in both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) modes, 4G LTE, WCDMA, GSM, CDMA, Wi-Fi, Cat M1, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
  • Supports 3GPP Rel 15 and Rel 16 location features, including Emergency Fallback, Voice over New Radio (VoNR), downlink/uplink OTDOA, angle of arrival (AoA), and multi-round trip time (RTT)
  • Tests 4G/5G coexistence to evaluate intermodulation and harmonic interference effects on location performance

Conformance and operator acceptance

  • Validated for GCF, PTCRB, CTIA, CCSA, and OMA test specifications
  • Supports VoLTE E911 functional tests, E911 calling over Wi-Fi, and barometric pressure z-axis testing for FCC and carrier requirements

Conducted and over-the-air (OTA) testing

  • Controls conducted-mode and radiated OTA testing from a single user interface
  • Integrates with anechoic test chambers; compliant with current LTE OTA CTIA test requirements

Hybrid indoor positioning

  • Emulates up to 32 Wi-Fi access points via the SR5750 multi-access point (AP) instrument for Wi-Fi protocol and performance tests
  • Supports indoor positioning methods including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and barometric pressure via LPPe

Productivity

  • Parallel device testing executes test cases on two devices simultaneously to reduce overall test time
  • A-GNSS record and playback capability brings field testing conditions into the lab with controlled, repeatable methodology
