Keysight 5DX 8.2.4 Software Patch

The Keysight 5DX 8.2.4 software patch contains changes to 5DX software that enable the use of Windows XP Service Pack 2. This is a not a complete 5DX installation. The 5DX must already have XP and 5DX 8.2.3 software installed before installing this patch. Also included in the patch is a fix for an internal error cause by incorrect reading of exclusion zone (NDF) files. The TDW does not require this patch in order to load SP2.
Installation Instructions:
5DX 8.2.4 must be installed on the Keysight 5DX prior to installation of Service Pack 2. If 8.2.4 is not installed and Service Pack 2 is used, the Keysight 5DX will not function properly and will cause unnecessary system down time. Prior to downloading and installing Service Pack 2 from Microsoft:
- Read the 5DX 8.2.4 Install Instructions. This document guides you through the installation of the 8.2.4 patch.
- Download and install the 5DX 8.2.4 patch to the 5DX.
- Once 8.2.4 is installed, download Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) from microsoft.com.
Note: Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 is only supported on the 1.0 and 2.8Ghz Industrial PC 5DX controllers. The HP Kayak controllers on Series II/2 and Series 3 do not support the Windows XP Professional Operating System and may cause unstable system performance.
