Highlights

The F9860020A Channel Studio Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) Tool provides flexible propagation channel modeling for communications between ground stations and LEO, MEO, and GEO satellites. It supports dynamic, phase-coherent delay, Doppler, and path loss modeling, including atmospheric rain attenuation based on ITU-R P.618, as well as 3GPP TR 38.811 TDL and CDL multipath fading channel models for NTN testing. When used in conjunction with the F9860000A Channel Studio GCM Tool, the solution supports the modeling of mixed terrestrial and non-terrestrial handover scenarios, as well as multi-satellite handover testing. The tool also enables NTN channel modeling for 2x2 and 2x4 MIMO multi-element antenna systems.

To simplify satellite scenario creation, the NTN Tool supports the import of satellite ephemeris data and Two-Line Element (TLE) files, allowing orbital parameters for Earth-orbiting satellites to be accurately defined at specific points in time, together with user equipment (UE) and/or ground gateway locations. In addition, it supports OpenStreetMap integration, GPS coordinate-based scenario definition, and both transparent (bent-pipe) and regenerative (Sat-gNB) satellite architectures, including single-link and multi-link communication scenarios.
