Genesys Advanced Modeling Kit provides you the ability to develop custom nonlinear device models such as transistors, diodes, Micro-electro-mechanical Systems (MEMs) or electro-optical devices using Verilog-A, the industry’s most accepted analog behavioral modeling language. The Verilog-A models can then be used in the Genesys frequency- or time-domain nonlinear circuit simulators (i.e. Harbec or Cayenne respectively) to design first-to-market circuit or system components.

It provides a Verilog-A compiler to create run-time nonlinear models for DC, harmonic balance, and transient Spice simulations. Verilog-A is an industry standard, transportable analog hardware description language (HDL) that connects you to the worldwide compact modeling community.

Typical applications of Advanced Modeling Kit

• Custom Verilog-A device model from a preferred foundry partner based on a new process, e.g. GaN or SiC
• Accurate non-standard power transistor model with self-heating for defense aerospace applications
• Modeling novel MEMS devices such as RF switches, oscillators or tunable phase shifters
• Electro-optical components such as laser didoes, TFT transistors and OLEDs
• Custom analog, PLL, signal integrity function block (such as a DFE decision feedback equalization pre-emphasis unit) from an external vendor
• any user-defined model, for use with harmonic balance, or Spice

While Keysight provides other EDA platforms such as GoldenGate and Advanced Design System (ADS) for high-performance, design-flow intensive physical design, Genesys remains useful to technologists and smaller workgroups doing active, smaller-scale electrical designs in the wireless and aerospace/defense frequency bands (such as WiMAX™ and Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS)).
