Wideband Receiver Calibration
Product design, development, and manufacturing spanning many industries require accurate measurements. A best practice to ensure precise device measurements is through calibration. This application note focuses on wideband receiver calibration.
Receiver calibrators mathematically remove errors from the raw measurement data enabling linear error correction of the signal analyzer measurements. The measurement reference plane for a typical wideband receiver calibration location is at the point where the test cables connect to the device under test (DUT). Calibration measurements should include the cables and connectors up to the device under test. This process will ensure the resulting measurements reflect the device’s performance by not including its path interference.
