Introduction
For a device to qualify as a HDMI 2.1 certified device, it needs to pass the HDMI 2.1 source electrical tests. The hardware setup required for this test includes a four-channel oscilloscope, four probe amps with probe heads, an EDID/SCDC controller2, and the HDMI Test Point Access (TPA) fixture as shown in Figure 1. The Keysight D9021HDMC is the fully automated compliance test application solution for the HDMI 2.1 source electrical tests. It is a software application running on top of the Keysight Infiniium oscilloscope.
During testing, a user is required to connect the transmitter device under test (DUT) to the probe heads via the TPA fixture. Depending on the model of probe amplifiers and probe heads used, a user may be required to reconnect the probe heads to complete the whole suite tests. In this application note, we will address how to optimize the number of setups or minimize the reconnection efforts when running source electrical tests using the D9021HDMC.
